The Wordsworth Inn in Grasmere, part of The Inn Collection Group, seeks an exceptional Head Chef to shape its kitchen from day one and deliver high-quality, guest-focused dining experiences.

With 55 bedrooms and extensive dining capacity, this food-led operation requires a leader who can build a passionate team, set standards, and run the kitchen with strong financial discipline while maintaining hospitality at the core.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Wordsworth Inn kitchen from day one, setting standards and shaping a high-performing team.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations, supplier management, and budgeting to hit cost targets and maintain quality.
• Create exceptional dining experiences that reflect genuine warm hospitality and guest focus.

With 55 bedrooms, 196 internal covers and 148 external covers, this is a substantial, food-led operation with serious ambition, perfectly positioned in the heart of Grasmere. As Head Chef, you'll play a pivotal role in bringing the kitchen to life, setting standards, building a passionate team, and delivering consistently high-quality dishes. Being a Head Chef is challenging and requires hard work, but your leadership is key to creating exceptional dining experiences. With a focus on quality, freshness, and presentation, you lead a talented kitchen team to consistently deliver exceptional food that keeps guests coming back.

In addition to leading the team, you'll take full responsibility for the kitchen’s daily operations, ensuring smooth running, managing orders with nominated suppliers and meeting financial targets. Your ability to stay calm under pressure and efficiently achieve budgeted costs for food, wastage, and wages ensures everything runs to perfection.
