Job summary

The Wordsworth Inn in Grasmere is preparing to open its doors, and we're looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team and be part of an exciting new chapter from day one. With 55 bedrooms, 196 internal covers and 148 external covers, this is a substantial, food-led operation with ambitious plans, located in the heart of Grasmere.

Whatever your role, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to creating exceptional guest experiences and help establish The Wordsworth Inn as a destination

Qualifications

• Passionate about delivering great service and working in a team.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a busy kitchen.
• Respect for food safety and HACCP basics.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items and maintain your section to a high standard.
• Adhere to recipes, portion sizes and food safety standards.
• Collaborate with kitchen, front-of-house and management teams to ensure smooth service.

You’ll Fit Right Inn

As Commis Chef, you’ll be at the heart of our kitchen, working closely with the team to deliver high-quality dishes and maintain our standards. Whether you’re experienced or studying, your passion for food will shine through as you take responsibility for your section. You’ll manage food safety, storage, labeling, and adherence to recipes and specifications.

Your role involves efficient, collaborative work with kitchen, front-of-house, and management teams. You’ll prepare food items, operate standard kitchen equipment safely, and maintain a clean station.
