Job summary

Accor in Cardiff city centre is seeking a Head Chef to lead the kitchen in delivering high quality food and memorable dining experiences for guests at a busy city hotel. You will develop seasonal menus, mentor the team, and uphold Accor’s standards while driving culinary excellence.

The role requires a strong commercial mindset, hands-on leadership, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends in a fast-paced environment. Novotel brand standards and local influences guide menu and service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience in a senior commercial kitchen role.
• Strong leadership skills with a hands on approach
• Solid knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operations of the kitchen team, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, consistency, and service excellence.
• Support menu development and culinary innovation while maintaining Novotel brand standards and incorporating local influences.
• Inspire, coach, and develop chefs and colleagues through effective leadership, training, and mentorship.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, HACCP, and hygiene standards.
• Monitor food preparation, production, and service standards across all culinary outlets.
• Collaborate with senior leadership team team to enhance the overall guest experience.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and support effective procurement practices.
