Job summary

Active Care Group in Birmingham is recruiting a Head Chef to lead a busy kitchen at Hunters Moor. This full-time position offers 37.5 hours per week with a pro rata salary of £30,660.08 per annum.

You will work closely with clinical teams to plan menus and manage stock, budgets and safety standards. You will supervise and develop the kitchen team, create rotas, and ensure high quality meals while maintaining infection control and food safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Head Chef or similar role.
• Strong food preparation and kitchen management skills.
• Good understanding of food safety regulations.
• Experience leading and developing teams.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and solve problems effectively.

Responsibilities

• Leading day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Planning menus alongside clinical teams and dieticians.
• Managing stock, food orders and kitchen budgets.
• Supervising, supporting and developing the kitchen team.
• Creating rotas and arranging cover when needed.
• Maintaining Food Safety, Health & Safety and Infection Control standards.
• Completing audits and ensuring a clean, safe kitchen environment.
• Monitoring food quality and patient satisfaction.
