Job summary

Brendoncare is seeking a Chef at Stildon to prepare nutritious meals for residents, with attention to swallowing consistency. You will cook for around 45 people daily, manage stock, and help plan seasonal menus with residents.

The role includes rota oversight, team training, and keeping a clean kitchen with HACCP/COSHH compliance. Excellent IT skills (Excel/Word/Outlook) and Level 2 Food Safety are required, with Level 3 to be completed during probation.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Safety qualification required with Level 3 to be completed during probation.
• Commercial cooking experience is essential.
• Competent IT skills including Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene, HACCP and COSHH legislation.
• Experience in care home catering or to meet the dietary needs of older/vulnerable adults is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meal preparation for residents’ meals and snacks.
• Prepare nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks with appropriate swallowing-consistency levels.
• Cook for approximately 45 people per day.
• Catering for staff meals and guests/relatives.
• Order and control stock.
• Develop seasonal menus with residents’ input.
• Oversee catering rota management.
• Oversee catering team training.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
