Job summary

Brendoncare Stildon is seeking a Chef to join our team to prepare nutritious meals for residents, tailored to their individual needs, including texture modifications.

You will deputise for the Chef Manager, cook for 60+ people daily, assist with stock, hygiene compliance, and use IT tools like Excel, Word and Outlook to help with records. We offer DBS check, parking, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking for a care home or older adults preferred.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP and COSHH.
• Ability to prepare nutritious meals with appropriate textures and portion control.

Responsibilities

• Meal prep and cooking for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks for 60+ residents daily.
• Assist in deputising for the Chef Manager when required.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and stock rotation.
• Ensure COSHH and HACCP standards are met and recorded.
• Use IT tools (Excel, Word, Outlook) for records and communications.
• Provide meals for staff, guests and relatives as needed.

Job description

At Brendoncare Stildon, we are now looking for a Chef to join our ranks to help us provide the best quality meals for our residents, suited to their individual needs. The role includes:

• Meal prep
• Preparing nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks appropriate for individual needs including consistency levels for swallowing
• Deputising in the absence of the Chef Manager
• Cooking for approximately 60+ people per day
• Catering for staff meals, and additional catering requirements for guests, visitors and relatives of residents
• Stock rotation
• Maintaining kitchen cleanliness
• Ensure COSHH standards are exceeded
• HACCP record completion
  Level 2 Food Safety Qualification
• Commercial cooking experience
• Competent in IT software including Excel, Word and Outlook
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene, HACCP and COSHH legislation and its application
• Priority will be given to applicants with experience of working in a Care Home setting or experience of catering for older/vulnerable adults with an understanding of their dietary and nutritional needs
