Job summary

TLC Care seeks an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen at a care home in England. The role focuses on organising and controlling the production of quality meals within budget while maintaining high hygiene standards in line with EHO regulations.

You will manage dietary needs (Kosher, Halal, vegan/vegetarian), develop menus, recruit and train staff, and supervise rosters and stock to ensure resident satisfaction and sustainability.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Level 1 & 2 (or equivalent)
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
• Previous supervisor experience

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals as required.
• Provide for special dietary requirements (Kosher, Halal, vegan, vegetarian).
• Recruit kitchen team members.
• Audit and ensure kitchen adheres to EHO Regulations.
• Follow IDDSI framework and meet dietary requirements.
• Produce a 4-week kitchen rota on time.
• Assist with training of kitchen staff.
• Develop menus using sustainable produce.
• Place orders and conduct monthly stock take.
• Monitor and control food costs within budget.
• Oversee the food safety management system.
