Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (occasional weekends)

The Role Head Chef

As Head Chef, you'll oversee the daily kitchen operation within a modern, purpose-built care home, ensuring residents are provided with appealing, nutritious meals tailored to their needs, including specialist dietary requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading kitchen operations to deliver consistently high standards

• Planning menus and ensuring dietary/allergen compliance (e.g. dysphagia diets)

• Managing food stock, budget control, and supplier relationships

• Overseeing kitchen cleanliness, safety, and food hygiene standards (HACCP, COSHH)

• Managing staff rotas, training, and development

• Working closely with care staff to meet individual resident needs

• Ensuring compliance with health and safety and infection control guidelines

The Ideal Candidate - Head Chef

Must have:

• Minimum 2 years experience at Sous Chef level or above

• NVQ Level 2/3 in Catering or equivalent

• Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate

• Experience of managing budgets and kitchen teams

Desirable:

• Previous experience in care or healthcare catering environments

• Knowledge of allergen management and specialist diets

You ll also need to be:

• Passionate about food and presentation

• Calm, creative and organised in a fast-paced kitchen

• A true team player with excellent communication skills
