Job summary

Barchester Healthcare is seeking an enthusiastic Head Chef to lead a team, create nutritious and appealing menus for residents, and uphold high hotel/restaurant standards within our care homes.

You will have autonomy in menu planning, staff development, and ensuring exceptional dining experiences. The role offers opportunities for growth through the Barchester Chef Academy and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Lead, motivate and inspire a team to deliver high standards.
• Experience with fresh seasonal food and nutrition.
• Knowledge of HACCP and COSHH.
• Familiar with IDDSI frameworks for modified diets.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and inspire a team, develop and upskill where required.
• Menu development tailored to residents for person-centred hospitality.
• Work with fresh produce to deliver high quality dishes.
• Bake fresh cakes, scones and breads from scratch.
• Assist FOH with dining area set up.
• Manage budgets, audits and stock control.
• Create a warm, efficient and fun environment.
