Barchester is seeking a Head Chef to lead and inspire a kitchen team within our care homes. You will develop seasonal menus, cook high-quality meals from fresh ingredients, and ensure dining areas meet the highest standards. You’ll work with front-of-house colleagues to create a welcoming environment that residents remember.

The role requires a warm, engaging leader with a strong HACCP/COSHH background and experience in nutrition-focused hospitality. Training in IDDSI diets is provided as needed.

Qualificações

• Personable and warm approach with genuine interest in resident wellbeing.
• Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent.
• Experience leading, motivating and inspiring a team.
• Experience with fresh seasonal food and understanding of nutrition.
• Ability to create a warm, welcoming environment in our homes.
• Confidence engaging with residents to create appetising and nutritious menus.
• Experience with front of house to ensure high dining standards.
• Good understanding of HACCP and COSHH.
• Knowledge of modified diets using the IDDSI framework; training available if new to care.

Responsabilidades

• Lead, motivate and inspire a team; develop and upskill where required.
• Menu development tailored to residents for person-centred hospitality.
• Use fresh produce to deliver high-quality dishes to the highest standards.
• Bake fresh cakes, scones and breads from scratch.
• Support front of house with dining area setup.
• Work within budget; perform audits and manage stock control.
• Create a warm, efficient and fun dining environment.
• Ongoing recruitment and retention; manage kitchen and front of house performance.
