A leading organization in York is looking for an enthusiastic Head Chef to manage kitchen operations and deliver high-quality food standards. The role involves overseeing a busy food outlet and an events space while ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to excellent customer service.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Head Chef to develop our business through excellent food standards.
The Head Chef will oversee the kitchen team at the Folk Hall in York, providing a wide variety of freshly prepared dishes for a high-quality, busy food outlet open 6 days a week, alongside a developing events space.
This role involves operational management of catering services at the Folk Hall and an adjacent state-of-the-art care facility, including food management, strict compliance with food safety regulations, and achieving food GP%.
Building strong relationships with stakeholders, including residents, staff, the public, and the wider JRHT community, is a key aspect of the role.
You seek a role that offers autonomy to develop food provision across both sites. You are passionate about great food and customer service, possess a minimum Level 2 Food Safety qualification, and have demonstrated progressive success in your culinary career. Relevant catering qualifications and experience in leading and developing teams, as well as improving processes for efficiency and value for money, are essential. Your ability to motivate and inspire others, along with a passion for food and service, will be evident. A positive, can-do attitude is crucial.
