Job summary

Welford Healthcare is seeking a talented Head Chef to lead the kitchen at Ashbourne Court, Andover. You will design nutritious menus for elderly residents, run a capable catering team and ensure every meal meets high standards of quality and safety.

Your role will directly impact residents' wellbeing and daily quality of life. You’ll oversee budget and resource management, mentor staff, and adapt menus for dietary requirements, while maintaining excellent service and hygiene across the kitchen

Qualifications

• Recent experience cooking for large numbers in a commercial setting.
• Proven track record in managing and motivating a catering team.
• Experience preparing food for people with special dietary requirements.
• Flexible schedule with alternating weekends.
• Enhanced DBS check is required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Design a varied menu that reflects residents' tastes and nutritional needs.
• Ensure mealtimes are always a high-quality experience.
• Maintain the highest food standards.
• Support, training and directing the kitchen team.
• Mentoring and motivating on quality, safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Assist the General Manager in developing and managing the department's resources.

Head Chef Hours: 40 per week, Monday to Sunday Location: Ashbourne Court, 13 Salisbury Road, Andover, Hampshire, SP10 2JJ If youre a talented, experienced chef looking to improve the lives of other people, we can offer you a rewarding career at Ashbourne Court. Who We Are Looking For

• You should have recent experience of cooking for large numbers in a commercial setting.
