The Thamesmead Social is a fresh food led cafe/restaurant on the edge of Southmere Lake in Thamesmead, Sout East London. A 10 minute walk from Abbey Wood station and the Elizabeth Line

A well established and local favourite we are now looking for a creative chef to take the lead role and drive the business forward.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Head Chef at Thamesmead Social located in London. The Head Chef will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, creating menus, managing kitchen staff, ensuring food quality and safety, and developing new recipes.

Working pattern of Wednesday to Sunday, 37.5 hours per week , no nights, straight shifts and potentially every 4th weekend off.

A basic salary of £40,000 is on offer to the right candidate, plus tips, yearly discretionary bonus and potential to step up to a more senior role covering multi sites.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years experience as a Head Chef in a high-end Cafe or gastro pub
• Enthusiastic, dynamic and ready for a new challenge.
• ·Proven capability to lead, train, and inspire a kitchen team
• ·Experience in managing food costs, ordering, and staff rotas
• ·Competent in, menu development & costings, stockcontrolling and GP
• ·Up to date with FSA regulations, allergens & compliance.
• ·Experienced in handling high-volume service.
• ·Strong understanding of food trends and seasonal UK ingredients
• ·A creative mindset with attention to detail
