Job summary

Byron - Bury St Edmunds is seeking a Head Chef to partner with the General Manager to lead the kitchen, inspire the team and deliver our burgers, fries and sides with energy and care. You’ll drive a positive culture while ensuring smooth shift runs and exceptional guest service.

You’ll oversee stock, audits, and food quality, while developing a strong, motivated team and upholding health and safety standards across the kitchen. This is a hands-on leadership role in our restaurant.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a kitchen and managing a team.
• Strong Health and Safety awareness and audit standards.
• Proven track record in delivering world-class burgers and sides.

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen team to deliver high-quality burgers and sides with a positive atmosphere.
• Develop and train staff with emotional intelligence.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety audits.
• Manage stock and wastage to spec.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations alongside General Manager.

As a Head Chef, you’ll work with your General Manager to develop and inspire the team to serve our guests our delicious burgers, fries & sides, plate after plate after plate. You’ll make sure your shift runs as it should – smoothly, and with great energy. What will you be doing?

Alongside your General Manager, you’ll lead the kitchen team to create not only world-class burgers and sides, but an engaging culture and a positive atmosphere. As a Head Chef with Byron, you’ll:

• Build and develop the team, acting with patience and emotional intelligence
• Have a strong understanding of Health and Safety and audit standards
• Have experience working in a leadership role within a kitchen
• Have great attention to detail, ensuring all food leaves the kitchen as it should
• Be responsible for following process which will ensure all your audits are passed with flying colours
• Be in charge of managing your stock and ensuring your team are working to spec and recording all wastage
• * the payrate shown includes service charge which is paid with your monthly wage and is an independently managed tronc arrangement through which service charge is allocated outside of and in addition to your basic pay.
