Job summary

The Barbary Notting Hill is looking for an experienced Head Bartender to lead our dedicated cocktail bar team, overseeing bar prep, cellar operations, stock levels and day-to-day operations. You’ll bring a confident, vibrant presence, work closely with the Bar Manager on evolving The Barbary cocktail list, and share expertise with the team.

You will lead by example, maintain exceptional drink quality, ensure safety and hygiene compliance, and act as a key link to management while driving

Qualifications

• Experience as Head Bartender with bar prep oversight, cellar operations and stock management.
• Ability to lead and develop a bartending team during service.
• Solid wine knowledge and familiarity with classic cocktails.

Responsibilities

• Lead, inspire and develop a talented team of bartenders during service.
• Set and maintain standards across service, presentation and drink quality.
• Oversee compliance with health, safety, hygiene and responsible service.
• Act as the bridge between upper management and the bar team and drive improvements.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Head Bartender to join us at The Barbary Notting Hill!

We bring the Barbarian experience to the Notting Hill neighbourhood with the iconic Barbary horseshoe kitchen counter, the beloved elemental cooking of The Barbary and a dedicated cocktail bar

You’ll be

• An experienced Head Bartender, including overseeing bar prep, managing cellar operations, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring efficient day-to-day bar operations.
• A confident and vibrant personality who thrives in the buzz of service. The Barbary Notting Hill bar team will work from our dedicated cocktail bar, interacting with our guests as part of their Barbarian experience.
• Have a solid level of wine knowledge, be comfortable with the classic cocktails and eager to assist the Bar Manager on developing the ever-evolving The Barbary cocktail list. Original creations from our Bartenders have become firm favourites at our sister sites!
• An accomplished bartender with experience of working in a quality restaurant environment. You’ll have previous floor experience and be comfortable with getting stuck in and supporting the waiters during a busy service.
• An English speaker to a high working proficiency.
• Available to get stuck in on-site from mid August, joining our training programme as we rear up for the opening.

• Set and maintain exceptional standards across service, presentation and drink quality, ensuring every guest experience reflects the values of Studio Paskin
• Demonstrate outstanding product knowledge and a genuine passion for the drinks industry, sharing expertise and developing the skills of the wider team.
• Take ownership of compliance, health and safety, hygiene and responsible service, ensuring all legal requirements and company standards are consistently met.
• Act as the key link between upper management and the bar team, communicating objectives, feedback and operational updates clearly and effectively.
• Drive continuous improvement across the bar, identifying opportunities to enhance performance, develop the drinks offering and deliver an exceptional guest experience.
