Job summary

Geotek Limited in Daventry, UK, is seeking a Software Developer to design, develop, and test software for multi-sensor core logging and imaging instruments. You will join a multidisciplinary team focused on the application layer and hardware-software interfaces that capture and process data from advanced sensors.

You will work on desktop/system software, driver development, data processing, and testing, with travel to international sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience writing software that communicates with physical hardware devices, serial interfaces, USB devices, or ethernet-based sensors.
• Demonstrated experience with automated unit testing, regression testing, and hardware-in-the-loop validation.
• Proficiency using Git for collaborative codebase management.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust desktop and system software to interface with instrument hardware, sensor networks, and data acquisition pipelines.
• Create and execute comprehensive unit, integration, and system validation tests to ensure software quality and instrument reliability.
• Collaborate with electronics and mechanical engineers to implement drivers and control protocols for sensors, motor drives, and imaging cameras.
• Optimize algorithms for high-speed geological data collection, real-time visualization, and 2D/3D image rendering.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and upgrade existing legacy codebases based on internal testing and feedback from international clients.
