Job summary

ECM Selection is seeking a senior/mid-level software engineer for a hands-on role focused on data collection and analysis software for cutting-edge scientific instruments. You will help with instrument control, debug embedded software, and contribute to testing in a small software team.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in CS/Engineering/Physics and proven hardware-instrumentation delivery. Key tech spans C#, C++, MVVM, Python, and TypeScript across Windows and Linux; onsite Royston

Job description

This established scientific instrument company provides applied biotechnologies used for protein characterisation, antibody discovery and cell line development. Their instruments are based on proprietary innovations around microfluidic systems and transformative in-solution technologies.

They currently have a small software team and are looking for a senior / mid-level software engineer to join them. Responsibilities will include design and development of data collection and analysis software, contributing to instrument control, debugging embedded software, and provide relevant testing.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in computer science, engineering, physics or other related discipline.
• Demonstrable industry project experience in software engineering including the successful delivery of hardware-related instrumentation products to market.
• Wide range of technical competence in programming including C#, MVVM, and C++. This should include application software for both Windows and Linux. Additonal experience with Python, and TypeScript would be advantageous.
• Any experience with image processing, Java or machine learning would be desirable.

This role is based fully onsite at their offices in Royston including parking and are within walking distance of the local train station.
