Job summary

Holt Recruitment Group seeks a hands-on Hardware Engineer to design and develop bespoke electrical and electronic hardware for automated and manual test systems across aerospace, defence, space and regulated industries.

You will guide designs from concept through to commissioning, collaborating with software, systems, mechanical and production teams to deliver robust hardware solutions and documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience designing electrical/electronic hardware.
• Strong grasp of analogue and digital electronics.
• Experience with component selection, hardware integration and documentation.
• Practical fault-finding and diagnostics.
• Understanding of manufacturing, assembly and testing processes.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical and electronic hardware for bespoke test systems across sectors.
• Translate customer requirements into hardware solutions and architectures.
• Select and integrate instrumentation, power supplies, data acquisition, and communications hardware.
• Produce schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Support hardware procurement, manufacture, integration, fault-finding and testing.
• Contribute to verification, validation, commissioning and customer acceptance.
• Collaborate with software, systems, mechanical and production teams.
• Identify risks, obsolescence and opportunities to improve performance and reliability.
