Job summary

Future Talent Group in Oxford is seeking a Hardware Engineer to design and develop embedded electronics powering autonomous platforms. The role involves ownership from concept to deployment, tackling PCB design, firmware, prototyping and validation for real‑world environments.

You will collaborate with software, systems and mechanical engineers to integrate hardware across the full product lifecycle, support EMC testing and regulatory compliance, and drive production‑readiness from prototype

Qualifications

  • Experience with PCB design and layout for embedded systems.
  • Proficient in embedded firmware development.
  • Experience with schematic capture, board bring-up and debugging.
  • Familiar with EMC testing and design-for-compliance.
  • Experience bringing products from prototype to manufacture.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop PCB hardware from concept through schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping and production.
  • Develop embedded firmware alongside hardware designs.
  • Carry out board bring-up, debugging and hardware validation.
  • Support EMC testing and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Work across the full product lifecycle, from early R&D through to production-ready hardware.
  • Collaborate with software, systems and mechanical engineers to integrate hardware into autonomous platforms.
  • Support continuous product improvement through testing, investigation and root cause analysis.
