Job summary

Octagon Group is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer in Bicester, Oxfordshire, for hybrid working. You will lead analogue and digital hardware design, develop embedded firmware, and drive products from concept through production.

The role requires strong electronics expertise, PCB tools knowledge, and experience guiding products to production, with opportunities for growth in a collaborative R&D team.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong experience in analogue and digital electronics design.
• Embedded firmware development experience.
• Knowledge of PCB design tools and development environments.
• Experience delivering products into full production.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop analogue and digital electronic hardware.
• Develop embedded firmware for microprocessor-based products.
• Manage products through the full lifecycle from concept to production.
• Apply Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Support EMC testing, product approvals and compliance activities.
• Design mechanical components, housings and test fixtures where required.
• Manage development projects, schedules and technical deliverables.
• Provide mentoring and technical support to junior engineers.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.
