Job summary

Averna powered by Spherea is seeking an experienced hardware engineer to design and develop electrical and electronic hardware for bespoke test systems. You will work with systems, software, mechanical, production and project engineers across the lifecycle from concept to commissioning, primarily based in Bournemouth with some travel.

Responsibilities include analysis of requirements, hardware design, interfacing, documentation, cost estimates and safety/compliance considerations.

Qualifications

• Degree or higher in electronic/electrical engineering or related discipline.
• Experience designing electrical/electronic hardware through the lifecycle.
• Ability to produce clear electrical schematics and wiring information.

Responsibilities

• Analyse customer and system requirements and develop hardware solutions.
• Design electrical hardware for automated and manual test systems; select and integrate instrumentation and control equipment.
• Define interfaces between test system and unit under test; support PCB development where required.
• Produce and maintain specifications, schematics, wiring diagrams and BOMs.
• Prepare hardware costings and estimates of materials and engineering effort.
