Job summary

Wanstor Limited is seeking a Hardware Deployment Engineer to own and run the hardware build and deployment operation from our Hemel Hempstead office. This hands-on role includes building, configuring and staging IT hardware for deployments, with responsibility for stock, assets and documentation.

You will guide a Junior Hardware Deployment Engineer, ensuring tasks are completed on time, processes are improved and deliveries stay on schedule. This is a permanent, full-time role based on-site.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure, stage and prepare IT hardware for deployments.
• Carry out quality checks to ensure equipment meets customer requirements.
• Coordinate day-to-day hardware build workload, prioritising requests and deadlines.
• Manage the receipt and shipment of customer hardware from Hemel Hempstead office.
• Maintain accurate asset, stock and inventory records.
• Ensure customer build documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Keep the hardware build environment organised, efficient and high standard.
• Monitor stock levels and work with Procurement to ensure equipment is available.
• Coordinate hardware fulfilment across different areas of the business.
• Provide day-to-day coaching to our Junior Hardware Deployment Engineer.
• Identify risks to customer deliveries and escalation issues before impact.
• Continually improve build, deployment, stock and fulfilment processes.
• Provide regular updates on workload, stock levels, procurement and delivery performance.

Hardware Deployment Engineer

Description

We’re looking for an IT Technician to take ownership of our hardware build and deployment operation from our Hemel Hempstead office.

This is a hands-on role combining IT hardware builds, device configuration and deployment with responsibility for stock, assets and the smooth running of our build operation. You’ll make sure customer equipment is configured correctly, quality checked, documented and ready for deployment, while helping us continually improve how we manage hardware fulfilment.

You’ll also provide day-to-day guidance to a Junior Hardware Deployment Engineer, making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on but is ready to take more ownership of an operation.

What You'll Do

• Build, configure, stage and prepare IT hardware for customer deployments and service requests.
• Carry out quality checks on completed builds to ensure equipment meets customer requirements.
• Coordinate the day-to-day hardware build workload, prioritising requests and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Manage the receipt and shipment of customer hardware from our Hemel Hempstead office.
• Maintain accurate asset, stock and inventory records.
• Ensure customer build documentation is accurate and up to date, identifying and resolving any gaps.
• Keep the hardware build environment organised, efficient and operating to a high standard.
• Monitor stock levels and work closely with Procurement to ensure equipment is available when required.
• Coordinate hardware fulfilment requirements across different areas of the business.
• Provide day-to-day support, coaching and guidance to our Junior Hardware Deployment Engineer.
• Identify risks to customer deliveries and escalation issues before they impact agreed timescales.
• Continually improve our hardware build, deployment, stock and fulfilment processes.
• Provide regular updates on build workload, stock levels, procurement requirements and delivery performance.

What You'll Need

We’re looking for someone with experience in IT hardware deployment, device builds, asset management, stock control or IT logistics who enjoys taking ownership and getting things done.

You’ll ideally have:

• Experience building, configuring or deploying IT hardware.
• An understanding of IT asset management, stock control and hardware procurement processes.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent attention to detail, particularly around builds, assets and documentation.
• A proactive approach to customer service and problem solving.
• The confidence to work independently and take ownership of day-to-day operations.
• Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues would be beneficial.
• A mindset focused on improving processes, efficiency and quality.
