Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council and South West Birmingham NHS Trust operate a joint short-term reablement service at Harvest View in Rowley Regis. A reliable Handyperson is needed to maintain a safe, functional environment and support residents returning home after illness or injury.

The role includes minor repairs, general maintenance, reporting defects, and assisting with heating and water systems. A full UK driving licence and 18.5 hours per week are required.

Qualifications

• Practical maintenance, caretaking or handyperson experience.
• Ability to identify and resolve minor maintenance issues safely and effectively.
• Willingness to undertake role-specific training and safety procedures.

Responsabilités

• Carrying out minor repairs and decoration work.
• Undertaking general maintenance and handyperson duties within the centre and community settings.
• Identifying and reporting building defects, breakages and major repair issues.
• Supporting the basic maintenance and operation of heating, air conditioning and water systems.
• Maintaining equipment and supply stores.
• Assisting with site security and ensuring the building remains safe and secure.
• Undertaking driving duties when required.
• Supporting the overall upkeep and presentation of the premises.
