Job summary

Wellburn Care Homes Limited is looking for a practical Handyperson to support our care home and surrounding areas. You will handle general maintenance, basic plumbing, joinery and electrical fittings, prioritising your workload to keep rooms and communal areas safe and comfortable.

You’ll work with a dedicated team in a family-run business that values people, inclusivity and flexible schemes; we offer wellbeing initiatives and employee benefits as part of our supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance within a care or hospitality setting.
• Good knowledge of basic plumbing, joinery and electrical fittings.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently with a proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance in the care home and surrounding areas.
• Identify and report repair needs to ensure safety and comfort for residents.
• Assist with small projects and liaise with the maintenance team as required.

Job description

The Handyperson is key to the welfare of our residents at Wellburn Care by ensuring high standards of general maintenance to the care home and surrounding areas. We are looking for a handyperson who are self-motivated and can prioritise their own workload with a good general knowledge of all aspects of maintenance including basic plumbing, joinery, and household electrical fittings. Our Handyperson will have a keen eye to identify general maintenance work that is required to keep our homes safe and as comfortable as possible for the residents. You will be responsible for all minor repairs within the home as well as reporting
