Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions are seeking an experienced Handyperson to join our client’s on-site facilities team based in Derby. The role focuses on reactive building fabric repairs, plumbing work, and sanitaryware replacements, with minor joinery and decorating tasks to keep the site safe and well maintained.

This hands-on position offers variety, stability, and long-term opportunity within a well-established facilities management environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar maintenance or handyperson role.
• Strong Plumbing background is strongly advantageous.
• Strong background in commercial building maintenance.
• Must be able to pass a DBS check.
• Willingness to undergo security vetting (may take up to 8 weeks)

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive building fabric repairs.
• Perform general plumbing repairs and replace sanitaryware (taps, toilet parts, etc.).
• Undertake minor joinery and decoration works.
• Support general maintenance tasks to ensure the site remains safe and functional.
• Identify and report faults or defects requiring further attention.
• Assist with planned preventative maintenance tasks where required

Site based Handyperson – Derby – Global Facilities Management Organisation: Government

CBW Staffing Solutions are looking for an experienced and reliable Handyperson to join our client’s on-site facilities team based in Derby.

You’ll be responsible for carrying out reactive repairs to building fabric, with a strong focus on plumbing works and sanitaryware replacements. The role also includes minor joinery, basic decoration, and general maintenance tasks to ensure the site remains safe, functional, and well maintained. This is a hands-on position suited to a multi-skilled individual with a strong background in building fabric and plumbing.

Package:

• Competitive salary up to £28,500 per annum
• Core hours are 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
• Participation in on call rota (TBC)
