Job summary

Daniel James Interiors is seeking an experienced Working Shop Manager to lead a bespoke shop-fitting team. You will oversee the workshop, coordinate production, and ensure products meet precise specifications with high-quality workmanship.

The role combines hands-on production with management, requiring drawing interpretation, problem solving, and proactive leadership in a fast-paced project environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supervising or managing a workshop/team.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• High standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
• Experience with CNC machinery or specialist workshop equipment.
• Relevant woodworking/joinery qualification.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the workshop and meet project deadlines.
• Plan production and allocate workloads across the workshop team.
• Check drawings, specs, dimensions, materials and details before manufacture.
• Lead, train, and motivate workshop staff.
• Maintain safety, housekeeping and PPE standards.
• Coordinate with project managers and site teams.
• Ensure quality and timely delivery of bespoke items.
