Veolia UK in Birmingham is seeking an Operations Assistant to support waste transfer operations at the site. You will operate forklift and wheeled bucket loader, carry out pre-acceptance checks and help manage waste flow in line with site procedures.

The role requires a full UK driving licence, a strong safety mindset and flexibility to cover occasional bank holidays and weekends. Veolia offers training, pension and health resources to support you.

Qualifications

Experience operating a wheeled bucket loader and forklift vehicles.
Full UK driving licence.
Willingness to undertake DBS check as part of onboarding.
Strong health and safety mindset and adherence to safe working practices.

Responsibilities

Carry out hands-on operative duties within the waste transfer station, including forklift operations, unloading/loading vehicles, and transferring waste as per site procedures.
Complete pre-acceptance checks on waste, verifying documentation and compliance with acceptance criteria.
Receive and handle various waste types, ensuring correct segregation, labeling and safe handling at all times.
Assist Receiving Hall operations using the wheeled bucket loader to manage inputs and maintain plant throughput.
Perform baghouse ash filter operative duties, monitor ash hopper levels and clear blockages to support continuous operation.
