Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Swindon is seeking a practical, reliable Support Staff member to join our team on a temporary basis for 5-6 weeks. The role focuses on hands-on workshop activity to support young people as they develop practical engineering and design skills.

You will work in a workshop environment, assisting with woodworking, basic manufacturing processes, and practical project preparation, while upholding health and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in workshop safety and handling tools.
• Hands-on woodworking or carpentry skills.
• Willingness to support students and teachers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain workshop equipment, tools, and materials.
• Support teachers and students during practical lessons.
• Keep the workshop clean, organised and compliant with safety rules.
• Assist with woodworking, manufacturing, engineering and project prep.
• Carry out routine maintenance and stock control of workshop resources.
• Help create a safe, engaging and professional learning environment.
• Support students in developing practical skills where appropriate.
