Job summary

Zest Food Jobs is assisting a well-established food manufacturing business in Northamptonshire to strengthen its leadership team by appointing a Production Shift Manager. This hands-on role will own day-to-day production on your shift, lead a team, and ensure targets for production, quality, waste and safety are met.

You'll be visible and engaged on the operation, using data and daily huddles to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience as Production Manager/Shift Manager or similar in manufacturing.
• Experience in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety and quality systems.
• Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate teams.
• Inquisitive approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Team Leaders and Operatives across the shift.
• Ensure production schedules are delivered safely, efficiently and to quality standards.
• Drive performance against production, waste, cost and quality targets.
• Maintain a strong health & safety culture across the department.
• Monitor line performance and address underperformance as needed.
• Run daily team huddles and ensure effective shift communication.
• Collaborate with Engineering to address downtime, reliability and equipment performance.
• Identify training and development needs within the team.
