Job summary

Oliver Rae is recruiting for a Health and Safety Manager to lead HSE across two heavy manufacturing sites in the West Midlands. The role is full-time, on-site in Stourbridge, with a salary up to £50,000 and a strong emphasis on hands-on safety on the shop floor.

You will drive compliance, lead incident investigations, and push continual improvements in safety culture while engaging with regulators, insurers and customers. Part-time consideration available.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Health & Safety Manager in manufacturing or heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Experience maintaining and improving HSE management systems.
• Experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Strong investigation, audits and root-cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Confident influencing and hands-on safety leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead HSE strategy across two manufacturing sites.
• Maintain HSE management systems and ensure compliance.
• Drive ISO 45001/ISO 14001 certification efforts.
• Ensure environmental permits and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct risk assessments, audits and inspections.
• Investigate accidents and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor and report HSE performance to leadership.
• Chair HSE meetings and manage contractor safety processes.
• Deliver training and safety initiatives to staff.
• Foster a proactive health and safety culture on site.
