Job summary

Morgan Ryder Associates is recruiting on behalf of a growing defence manufacturing group for a hands-on Financial Controller/Head of Finance to lead finance across two UK businesses. You will shape the function, drive financial control, costings and commercial partnering at a senior level.

Based in Burgess Hill or Worksop with travel between sites and occasional Europe travel, the role offers genuine influence and a seat at the leadership table with the MD and Senior Leadership Team.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in financial control, budgeting, forecasting in manufacturing or engineering.
• Experience with ERP systems and process improvement.
• Commercial business partnering with senior leadership; hands-on leadership.
• CIMA/ACCA/ACA advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Monthly and annual close, reporting and IFRS compliance.
• Statutory accounts, VAT and external audit.
• Financial controls, processes and reporting improvements.
• Manufacturing costs, product costing, margins and profitability.
• Budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and cash flow.
• Commercial analysis and business partnering with senior leadership.
• ERP and finance systems/process improvement.
• Leadership and development of existing finance teams.
• Liaison with external advisers and the wider international group finance function.
