Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment partnered with a local education trust to recruit an Estates Technician for a school site near Plymouth. This hands-on role covers maintenance, minor repairs and contractor coordination within a 30-hour week.

You will be trusted to work independently, with on-the-job training and opportunities for progression as you develop practical skills in estates management, health and safety, and site maintenance.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Caretaking, Maintenance, DIY, Manual Labour or a relevant trade.
• Good practical maintenance skills and ability to work safely.
• Ability to manage contractors and work independently.
• Willingness to pass a DBS check and live within commuting distance to Plymouth.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the school site.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance and minor repairs.
• Manage contractors and act as primary contact for external works.
• Carry out general handyperson and grounds maintenance duties.
• Work independently while liaising with school leadership and staff.
• Monday to Friday 30 Hour Working Week.
