Job summary

Zest is recruiting a Continuous Improvement Engineer for a well-established food manufacturing site in the UK. You'll support new machinery and product launches, and lead CI activity across the site.

The role requires a hands-on engineering background in manufacturing or food production, plus strong root cause analysis and a pragmatic, proactive problem-solving approach. You'll work on launches, trials, and on the shop floor, stepping in when needed to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• A hands-on engineering background within manufacturing or food production.
• Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Comfortable working across projects and on the shop floor.
• A pragmatic, proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Acting as a stakeholder across projects: new machines, launches, and new SKUs.
• Being present at launches, and understanding customer trials and visits.
• Acting as a go-between, stepping in for engineers when needed.
• Keeping hands-on skills current through RCA and CI work on existing machines.
• Taking a pragmatic approach, picking off low-hanging fruit and getting hands dirty where needed.
