Job summary

Dematic is seeking a hands-on maintenance engineer to join a 24/7 engineering operation at one of its flagship automated facilities in the United Kingdom. You will work alongside experienced technicians to keep automated material handling systems safe and efficient, handling faults and supporting preventive maintenance.

You’ll apply your NVQ Level 2 in Engineering, use hand tools and electrical/mechanical equipment, and contribute to continuous improvement while embracing a rotating shift

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Engineering, Construction, Maintenance or a related technical discipline.
• Experience using hand tools and working with mechanical, electrical or technical equipment.
• Good IT skills and confidence using technology.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing first-line response to faults, blockages and issues across automated material handling equipment.
• Assisting with planned preventative maintenance activities.
• Supporting Maintenance Technicians during breakdowns and repair activities.
• Completing planned and reactive work orders within agreed service levels.
• Carrying out maintenance tasks under approved Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
• Resolving operational issues within agreed timescales to maintain service delivery.
• Using maintenance systems and tools to support effective fault resolution.
• Identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Maintaining excellent relationships with customer teams on site.
• Contributing ideas to improve system performance, site efficiency and team effectiveness.
