Dematic is seeking hands-on individuals to join our 24/7 automation engineering team in the UK. Based at a flagship operation, you’ll learn from experienced engineers while gaining exposure to mechanical, electrical and software-controlled systems.

This role is ideal for those with an NVQ Level 2 in Engineering or equivalent, who are eager to grow a long-term career in engineering and contribute to safe, efficient automated systems within a fast-paced industrial setting.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience using hand tools and working with mechanical, electrical or technical equipment.
• Practical understanding of mechanical, electrical or software-controlled systems.
• Good IT skills and confidence using technology.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A strong commitment to Health & Safety.
• The physical capability to work within a large, active operational environment.
• Genuine interest in engineering and automation.
• Eagerness to learn and develop new technical skills.
• Wants to progress and build a long-term engineering career.
• Understands that learning complex automated systems takes time and is prepared to embrace the challenge.

Responsabilités

• Providing first-line response to faults, blockages and issues across automated material handling equipment
• Assisting with planned preventative maintenance activities
• Supporting Maintenance Technicians during breakdowns and repair activities
• Completing planned and reactive work orders within agreed service levels
• Carrying out maintenance tasks under approved Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments and Method Statements
• Resolving operational issues within agreed timescales to maintain service delivery
• Using maintenance systems and tools to support effective fault resolution
• Identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime
• Maintaining excellent relationships with customer teams on site
• Ensuring all activities are completed safely and in line with company procedures
• Contributing ideas to improve system performance, site efficiency and team effectiveness
