A well-established college in Chelmsford is seeking an Agricultural Engineering Workshop Technician to support students in a practical, safe workshop environment. You will help set up workshops, demonstrate tool use and maintain equipment, enabling learners to gain hands-on experience in agricultural machinery.

Qualifications

• Experience in agricultural engineering, farm machinery, or workshop environments.
• Practical experience and enthusiasm to support students.

Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare workshops, equipment and machinery for practical sessions
• Support students during practical workshop activities
• Demonstrate the safe and correct use of tools, machinery and workshop equipment
• Maintain, inspect and organise workshop tools and equipment
• Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs
• Ensure workshops are clean, safe and fully operational
• Monitor workshop stock, tools, equipment and consumables
• Support lecturers with practical demonstrations and activities
• Help students develop confidence with tools, machinery and engineering techniques
• Promote excellent health & safety practices
• Report faults, maintenance requirements and equipment issues
• Contribute to maintaining a professional and engaging learning environment
