Job summary

Atrium Accounts in York invites applications for an Accounting Technician apprenticeship. You will learn on the job, handling financial documents, ledgers, VAT, payroll and management reports while developing accounting competence.

The apprenticeship lasts 1 year 9 months, starting 1 October 2026. Training is provided by THE FERNANDES AND ROSARIO CONSULTING LIMITED, with wages of £15,600 in year one and potential increases with age.

Qualifications

• GCSE in Maths and English (grade 4) is required.
• AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organise financial documents for processing and check accuracy.
• Maintain accounting records for multiple companies; process ledger transactions and prepare final accounts.
• Carry out bank reconciliations and ensure records are complete and up to date.
• Review and submit VAT returns.
• Prepare management accounting information and reports.
• Support with payroll preparation and processing.
