Boots is seeking an Assistant Category Manager to join the Haircare Category Team in Nottingham, reporting to the Category Manager. You will own day-to-day trading performance of key haircare brands, turning insights into commercial action while supporting new brand launches and category development.

This on-site role emphasizes commercial ownership, bold annual plans, and delivering results with pace and accuracy within a fast-moving retail environment.

Qualifications

• Commercial and category expertise with a sharp eye for what drives performance.
• Strong understanding of the levers that improve sales, profit and market share.
• Ability to build bold, insight-led plans and translate them into action.
• Confidence using data and performance insight to make sound commercial decisions.
• Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
• A collaborative approach and the ability to deliver results across different teams.
• Relevant commercial or category experience in beauty, personal care, FMCG or a related retail environment.

• Own the day-to-day performance of key brands and categories within Haircare.
• Help drive momentum across the category by identifying opportunities to unlock growth.
• Build bold, insight-led annual plans that support sales, profit and market share growth.
• Execute category plans with pace, accuracy and ambition.
• Use commercial and category insight to understand what is driving performance and where action is needed.
• Monitor performance closely and turn data into practical trading actions.
• Work closely with the Category Manager to support delivery of team and business priorities.
• Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external brand partners.
• Influence effectively across teams to keep plans moving and deliver results.
