Job summary

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant in Haematopathology to report bone marrow trephine biopsies and lymph node biopsies within a specialist integrated diagnostic service. The role involves independent reporting and collaboration with clinical and laboratory colleagues in a SIHMDS framework.

Full GMC registration is required, with CCT in histopathology preferred. Part-time or job-share options are welcomed, and a five‑day Consultant Development programme is

Qualifications

• Independent integrated reporting of haematopathology specimens.
• Competence in reporting bone marrow trephine biopsies and solid tissue samples.
• Experience with multimodality haematopathology testing, including molecular assays.

Responsibilities

• Report bone marrow trephine biopsies and other relevant solid tissue samples.
• Provide independent integrated reporting within a SIHMDS.
• Support diagnosis and management with clinical, laboratory and academic colleagues.
• Work interactively with clinical, laboratory and academic colleagues.
• Attend the Trust's Consultant Development programme within a year of joining.
