Job summary

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Cambridge invites applications for a Consultant in Haematology (8PA) based at Addenbrooke's Hospital. The post strengthens our integrated clinical and laboratory haematology service with leadership of the General Haematology Laboratory.

The appointee will support immune haematology, thrombosis and haemostasis, and contribute to regional collaborations while sharing on-call duties and teaching for trainees, biomedical scientists and students.

Responsibilities

• Lead the General Haematology Laboratory and act as deputy lead for adult Haemoglobinopathy services.
• Contribute to haemoglobinopathy, Immune haematology and Thrombophilia clinics; provide inpatient and GP liaison.
• Provide consultant governance for red-cell apheresis in collaboration with UCLH and partner services.
• Participate in blood-film reporting, laboratory supervision and teaching for residents, scientists and students.
• Engage in audit, CPD, clinical governance and service improvement; partake in on-call rotas as needed.
