Job summary

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant in Haematology to lead the General Haematology Laboratory and deputise for adult haemoglobinopathy services. The role includes governance for the regional red-cell apheresis network and involvement in on-call rotas.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership of the general Haematology Laboratory.
• Deputise for adult haemoglobinopathy services and oversee consultant governance.
• Lead outpatient and inpatient haemoglobinopathy, immune haematology, transfusion, thrombosis and haemostasis activities.
• Participate in on-call rotas and teaching of junior staff and students.
• Contribute to audits, governance, CPD, research and service improvement.
