Job summary

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is hiring a Biomedical Scientist for Haematology and Transfusion. The role involves sample preparation, analyser maintenance, validation and reporting of results.

You will communicate complex test information to managers, consultants, nurses, and patients, and assist in explaining results while ensuring accuracy when clinical presentation differs.

Qualifications

• IBMS accredited biomedical sciences degree required or current trainee in that year.
• Ability to work within haematology and transfusion workflows.
• Strong communication with clinicians, patients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples and maintain analysers in Haematology/Transfusion.
• Validate and report results in a timely manner.
• Explain results and communicate complex information to clinicians and patients.
• Handle telephone inquiries and provide information about methodologies and service requirements.
• Manage daily work to maintain turnaround times and work within policies.
• Maintain complex analytical equipment and refer to senior staff as needed.
