Job description

Job Title: Quality Manager - Bone Marrow Transplant Service

The Quality Manager will be responsible for designing, creating, and implementing a quality management system to achieve JACIE (Joint Accreditation Committee-ISCT & EBMT) accreditation. Post-accreditation, the role involves managing the system to ensure the Bone Marrow Transplant Service becomes increasingly effective in quality, complies with regulatory standards, and maintains accreditation requirements. The Quality Manager will collaborate closely with the Clinical Programme Director and Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialists.

The role includes establishing data and information requirements for JACIE standards and accreditation, involving the design and development of models and processes for data management, and promoting the use of knowledge and information throughout the department.

Main duties of the job
  1. Write and manage policies and procedures that impact beyond their own area of activity.
  2. Maintain and upgrade the quality system documentation (Q-pulse) to ensure it is effective and user-friendly.
  3. Maintain accurate records of transplant activity for submission to commissioners, BSBMTCT, and EBMT registries. Report activity, variances, and incidents at monthly meetings.
  4. Coordinate and participate in local meetings, decision-making, and policy implementation.
  5. Participate in weekly MDT meetings and coordinate the monthly shared care SCT MDT with BHOC.
  6. Lead the monthly JACIE SCT meetings.
  7. Ensure familiarity with relevant statutory requirements, clinical governance, risk management, and accreditation systems.
  8. Contribute to and develop in-house educational programs for healthcare professionals regarding JACIE accreditation, transplant procedures, and patient pathways.
