Job summary

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is seeking a HCPC registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist for a Haematology and Blood Transfusion role. Based at Prince Charles Hospital with possible rotation to Royal Glamorgan Hospital to support service needs.

The post requires NHS pathology experience, strong communication, and a commitment to ongoing professional development; the role includes a 24/7 service and out-of-hours rota once trained.

Qualifications

• Accredited Degree in Biomedical Science
• IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Haematology and Blood Transfusion
• NHS Laboratory Experience
• Proven post-registration experience in Haematology

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of assays contributing to diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of disease
• Develop and maintain competency in specimen reception, haematology, coagulation and blood transfusion
• Participate in out-of-hours rota after completing departmental training and competency assessment
• Maintain high standards of patient care and quality control in a 24/7 Haematology and Blood Transfusion service
