Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is seeking an experienced Biomedical Scientist to lead the Blood Transfusion service across CTM hospitals. Qualifikationen

• The ideal candidate must be a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with a relevant Biomedical Science Masters degree / equivalent experience / BBTS specialist certificate in transfusion science.
• You must have UK laboratory experience as a Senior Biomedical Scientist, at band 7 level or above, with a specialist interest in Blood Transfusion, having good theoretical and practical knowledge.
• The post holder will also be expected to have leadership and management qualifications or relevant experience.
• The post-holder will be expected to manage all aspects of the service, whilst leading the senior team and delivering a quality based, supportive, and dedicated blood transfusion service.

Jobbeschreibung

You will be responsible for managing the team to deliver the day to day operational management of the hospitals blood transfusion departments within the health board.

You will be expected to work collaboratively with the haematology service manager and other stakeholders including members of WBS, the CTM quality team , and other operational managers.

You will be an intergral member of the haematology transfusion team and committee. You will be expected to perform staff appraisals and other HR/workforce duties and you should therefore have good communication and interpersonal skills.

This post will be based at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital however there is an expectation to travel to, and provide cover at other Cwm Taf Morgannwg laboratories depending upon service needs. You will be committed to providing a high quality service to our patients and have a commitment to training and quality, leadership and development. You should have an understanding of transfusion legislation, regulation and the maintenance of compliance with BSQR (2005) and ISO 15189:2022.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, flexible, forward thinking, driven individual, to help deliver a high quality, first class Blood Transfusion service to our users. The successful candidate will lead and support a strong blood transfusion senior team across all of the hospitals within the health board.
