Job summary

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is seeking a HCPC registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist for Haematology and Blood Transfusion. The post is based at Royal Glamorgan Hospital with the possibility of rotation to Prince Charles Hospital to support service needs and development.

You will perform a range of assays contributing to diagnosis, treatment and monitoring, and develop competency in haematology, coagulation and blood transfusion while participating in the 24/7 service and

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as Biomedical Scientist is required.
• Experience working in an NHS pathology laboratory is essential.
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to develop professionally are expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of assays contributing to diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of disease.
• Develop and maintain competency in specimen reception, haematology, coagulation and blood transfusion.
• Participate fully in the out-of-hours rota after departmental training and competency assessment.
