Job summary

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Assistant Service Manager for Gynaecology at the Chelsea site. You will lead operational management and collaborate with Heads of Clinical Services to meet performance and quality targets.

The role requires NHS experience, strong organisation, and the ability to drive service improvements across divisions, while maintaining high patient care standards and staff development.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
• Qualification in Management such as First Line Managers Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications (equivalent to ECDL or demonstrable experience).
• Relevant qualification in management, healthcare administration, information systems, IHRIM, or willingness to work towards a professional qualification.
• Significant NHS experience with a sound understanding of acute hospital services and patient pathways.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on operational management to designated areas of the Directorate, ensuring the delivery of services in line with expected service standards.
• Support clinical teams to deliver high-class Maternity and Neonatal care at both hospital sites.
• Be accountable through the Deputy General Manager for monitoring and delivery of key quality, productivity and performance targets.
• Undertake appropriate projects identified by the Deputy General Manager.
• Lead on developing new administrative processes and procedures in respective areas.
• Promote excellent customer service throughout all areas of responsibility, addressing poor or unresponsive service.
• Work with clinical divisional teams to ensure efficient administration supporting patient pathways and KPIs.
