Job summary

Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Head of Nursing for Gynaecology to provide strategic, professional, and operational leadership for nursing across four sites in Greater Manchester. The postholder will be a visible nursing leader, driving continuous improvement, accountability, and compassionate care.

The role covers clinical leadership, service management, governance, strategic development, and workforce planning, with a focus on patient experience, safety, and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree level education in Nursing/Midwifery or equivalent professional qualification.
• Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
• Desirable postgraduate teaching/mentorship qualification.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership across gynaecology services to improve patient outcomes.
• Lead service management: workforce development, recruitment, retention, and performance.
• Drive quality, governance and regulatory compliance initiatives.
• Contribute to service redesign and long-term strategic planning.
• Support budget management and resource planning for sustainable delivery.
• Collaborate with medical staff and partners to deliver integrated care.
