Job summary

CHEC seeks an experienced Gynaecology Consultant - Head of Service to provide clinical leadership and drive the development of our community gynaecology services. The role is hybrid, with oversight across multiple clinics and a focus on high-quality, patient-centred care.

The successful candidate will lead clinical teams, shape pathways, mentor GPwERs, and contribute to governance, audit and research. Lancashire Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust affiliation is noted.

Qualifications

• Current GMC registration and licence to practise.
• Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
• Evidence of current or recent consultant-level gynaecology practice.
• Evidence of competence relevant to CHEC Community Gynaecology scope of practice.
• Demonstrable experience working within acute and community gynaecology services.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and oversight for the gynaecology service.
• Support development and continuous improvement of clinical care pathways.
• Mentor GPwERs in gynaecology, including teaching and annual appraisal involvement.
• Participate in clinical governance, audits and research relevant to the service.
• Collaborate with operational and clinical teams across CHEC.
