Job summary

The Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is offering a part-time Band 5 staff nurse position in the Emergency Gynaecology Assessment Unit and inpatient gynaecology. The role focuses on assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating care within a supportive nursing team, educating patients and carers, and supervising unqualified staff and students.

The post requires NMC registration as an adult nurse, CPD evidence, and the ability to work across long days and nights in a 24-hour emergency

Qualifications

• Evidence of continuous professional development.
• Experience gained through pre-registration training.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care within team nursing, including discharge planning.
• Put patients at the centre of care, acting with compassion and speaking up when concerned.
• Communicate with patients, carers and the multidisciplinary team.
• Educate patients and carers, including on healthier lifestyles.
• Supervise, support and educate unqualified staff and students, and act as mentor, preceptor or role model.
• Safeguard vulnerable adults.
• Complete patient documentation correctly.
